Premier's (RITA) Portfolio Management Software
A new system for health professionals to maintain an electronic portfolio of their ongoing training and RITA assessments.
An easy to use, cost effective platform to manage all of your training portfolio requirements.
"Doctors must keep up to date with professional duties in all areas of Good Medical Practice and other guidance" - (General Medical Council)
Premier's RITA (Record of In -Training Assessment) Portfolio Management System has been created to allow easy recording and updating of an electronic portfolio for ongoing training and assisting in managing RITA assessments. Activities are grouped in a configurable way according to your organisation's curriculum but typically relate to areas of knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviour under each of the headings of Good Medical Practice:
- Good professional practice
- Maintaining good medical practice
- Relationships with patients
- Working with colleagues
- Teaching and training
- Probity
- Health
"You must keep your knowledge and skills up to date throughout your working life. In particular, you should take part regularly in educational activities which maintain and further develop your competence and performance." - (General Medical Council)
Premier's RITA Portfolio Management System provides a robust framework to organise a portfolio to help meet General Medical Council (GMC) guidelines in accordance with your training curriculum. The Management System tracks all areas of a participant's involvement and assessment in all stages of the curriculum and provides powerful reporting and educational tools suitable for individual, cluster or deanery level activities.
"Education and training must be planned and maintained through transparent processes which show who is responsible at each stage." - ( Postgraduate Medical Education and Training Board (PMETB) )
The Portfolio Management System allows colleges and institutions to easily verify that candidates have met the required Postgraduate Medical Education and Training Board (PMETB) standards.
Learning outcomes of core requirements are mapped to the curriculum and central administration is simplified by providing users with a secure personalised portal to access and update their own portfolio.
"Each programme must show how the posts within it, taken together, will meet the
requirements of the curriculum and what must be delivered within each post."
( Postgraduate Medical Education and Training Board (PMETB) )
In use by thousands of medical professionals and aligned to the GMC guidelines, Premier's RITA Portfolio Management System sets the benchmark for formidable, yet user friendly, future proof technology.
Premier's dominant web-based application is highly customisable and upgradeable yet easy to use, deploy and maintain. Powerful reporting functions are built in, its modular components integrate seamlessly and will accept data input from legacy or paper based systems.
Doctors are responsible for keeping themselves up to date in all areas of their practice. Revalidation will mean doctors must show us that they are up to date and fit to practise medicine. When revalidation is introduced in 2005 onwards, all doctors will need to demonstrate regularly that they are doing this.

assessments of progress and of individual trainees' educational needs and personal preferences."

Portfolio & Log Book
The Portfolio is the electronic equivalent of the document folder maintained by the trainee. Containing all records, reflections and assessments in a chronological order, every entry in the Portfolio maps directly to one of the seven elements of Good Medical Practice. The Log Book is a factual record of work or procedures the trainee has undertaken. My RITA
Whilst the "Portfolio" area is a cumulative record recording every aspect of professional progression, the "My RITA" area is a section which summarises all items from the Portfolio relevant to the curriculum stage(s) currently being worked on. Support for competency based training progress (as required by the Postgraduate Medical Education and Training Board (PMETB)) is provided.Online Assessment System
A substitute for paper based assessment forms, allowing participants to complete forms online, authorised by supervisors then assessed and filed automatically. Forms can be used for a number of different procedures and submitted multiple times during a period of training. Assessments are filed against specific learning objectives and may be included on a trainee's portfolio if required.Virtual Classroom
An online virtual classroom providing facilities to offer examples of clinical scenarios for consideration, moderated discussion forums or self assessment forms. Content for classrooms can easily be built by tutors and participation can be marked and assessed if required. If the activity leads to CPD points, this can automatically update a participants CPD record if integrated with our Online CPD system - see below.Multi-Source (360°) Feedback
A collaborative system for users to obtain feedback from a range of people anonymously, in an aggregated form. This module allows strengths and weaknesses to be identified which may not be apparent from a single assessment by one Assessor. The identities of those giving feedback are removed to ensure the assessors remain anonymous.Online CPD
The RITA Portfolio Management System can be fully integrated with Premier's reputable Online CPD system which provides a CPD diary, Skills Tracker, Personal Development Planning, Resource Library, Training Needs Analysis and full CPD auditing capabilities."CPD requires doctors to maintain and improve their standards across all areas of their
practice." - (General Medical Council, CPD Guidelines)
Guideline specific customisation
Curriculum stages, work flows and assessment methodology can all be easily changed should new guidelines or criteria be issued.College & Deanery Administration Area
A management module containing details of all trainees, trainers, administrators, other associated people and system usage providing flexible reporting options that can address complex queries. Reports are available in a number of different formats, and the notification system may be tailored to suit email, SMS or On Screen preferences.Data Synchronisation
The system will synchronise with existing membership data records, avoiding the need for duplication. To find out more contact Peter Bodley-Scott on Tel: 020 7837 2690 or email on: pbodley-scott@premierit.com
